Happy Mamas Day, Manny

Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz were the leaders of the Boston Red Sox until the whole thing fell apart. I am realizing today that those two guys were the parents of the organization and sometimes parenting is ugly…

So Manny Ramirez is the latest big-leaguer to test positive for performance enhancing drugs (PEDs)…who the eff cares? As a life long Boston Red Sox fan and a product of a high school with an abnormally high teen pregnancy rate, I would like to offer a different spin on the situation…I think this was very predictable…and Manny is actually a victim…

Genesis (Fresno) Could Use Phil Collins: C-E-Doh

So the CEO of Genesis, Elaine Bernard, rolled doubles three consecutive times…you know what that means Monopoly fans, go to jail, go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200 (I think she’s collected enough). ABC 30 reported that she was given a one year sentence, but will only serve 90 days. I’m okay with that. I didn’t think I would be, but it’s cool.

It’s cool, but I think Phil Collins and should come in to help shape policy at Genesis.

Economic Stimulus Plan: Sit Under a Tree and Smell the Flowers

Try to follow this line of logic: I did a Rogue Show this year…people came out to support…I used (some of) the proceeds to get a new tattoo…I estimate the economic impact of my Rogue performance to be approximately $5921.16…I’m cool with that.

People came to see my show, they bought a drink or dinner, maybe bought a new article of clothing, hired a babysitter, saw more than one show, recommended a restaurant to a friend. Servers used the tips earned to buy groceries or something else. Performers (like me) spent their money in the neighborhood, bough luxury items like a tattoo (and an iPhone), bought one or two rounds of drinks for supporter, etc. Keeping the money in the community can really pay off.
